TEDDY Network has been invited to join the Monitoring Body of the EUCROF Code of Conduct for Service Providers in Clinical Research.
EUCROF, the European CROs Federation, is the owner of the GDPR Code which helps to ensure the privacy rights and freedoms of trial participants while promoting the lawful, fair, and meaningful use of personal data in the field of Clinical Research. The Code is a sign of the continued progress the organizations and Supervisory Authorities are making toward establishing harmonized standards applied to various industries across the European Union related to data protection.
On March 17th, 2021, the Code was officially submitted for the approval of the 27 EU Member States data protection authorities and the CEPD. The submission opened a new phase of setting up the governance and all internal bodies of the Code.
‘I am pleased, together with all other members of the Executive Board, to invite representatives of TEDDY Network to join the ad hoc group in charge of establishing the Monitoring Body and later to join the Monitoring Body itself. We are fully convinced that such a partnership between TEDDY and EUCROF, at this very early stage, would be in the interests of our two organisations and more generally of Clinical Research in Europe as it would allow to take into duly account the peculiarities of paediatric clinical research. TEDDY indeed, can have a crucial role in fostering the respect of children rights while contributing to harmonise the application of GDPR in the paediatric population.’ said the EUCROF President Dr. Martine Dehlinger-Kremer in her letter to TEDDY’s Chair Dr. Annagrazia Altavilla.
TEDDY is delighted to contribute to such an important initiative!
