KIDS Bari participated in the OPBG Innovation Meeting on 28 March, 2019

On 28 March, 2019 the usual appointment with the Innovation Meeting promoted by the Paediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù was held in Rome.

For more than one year, the Paediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù has been dedicating space and attention to these meetings, aimed to disseminate and share the latest news about research innovation in particular in the paediatric field. This last edition of the Innovation Meeting represented a moment of discussion on a very wide panel of topics, all related to the future perspectives of the paediatric research, such as the new frontiers of the bioprinting or the possibility to use artificial intelligence for a genetic diagnosis. It was also the occasion to present the experience and the activities of KIDS Bari, the first Italian Young Persons Advisory Group (YPAG).

Mariangela Lupo, Head of Networking, Training and Advocacy Area at Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche and team leader of KIDS Bari presented, together with two young representatives of the group, the activity of the YPAG . She explained how the involvement of young persons and patients in the research and clinical field can strongly favour the achievement of goals in the drug development process. KIDS Bari is a group of both healthy youths and young patients who are actively involved in the definition of key issues and questions in the paediatric research projects as well as in the communication and sensitization activities about the healthcare by consciously using the social networks.

All the Innovation Meeting are recorded and available on the Paediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù Youtube Channel. If you want to see the video of the Innovation Meeting of 28 March 2019 click here.
