The European Reference Networks for Rare Neurological Diseases (ERN-RND) and Neuromuscular Diseases (ERN EuroNMD) together with the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) has organised an educational webinar on Myoclonus dystonia focused on paediatric.
Myoclonus dystonia can begin in the first 20 years of life and affects neck, arms and trunk but it can also occur in the legs and larynx. Myoclonus dystonia is manifested by rapid shocks and lightning and the causes can be linked to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorder and excessive use of alcohol.
The educational webinar will be held by Dr. Belén Pérez Dueñas, Specialist in Pediatric Neurology and Principal Investigator in Pediatric Movement Disorders at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and chaired by Marina de Koning-Tijssen – Professor in Movement Disorders at the department of neurology, University Medical Centre Groningen, the Netherlands.
The aim of the webinar is to improve the quality of care and promote research into neurological diseases that affect childhood.
